i am fairly certain that this will be one of those moments reese will not soon forget. ps-sorry, buddy, i figured sheep just sorta wandered. how was i supposed to know they were like, rocket fueled mutton? next year, you'll be more prepared!

oy vey.

man, it has been a minute, am i right? no one reads this, which is reassuring. so i can say whatever the fudge i want.

so, um, what has happened since i last graced this silly self important blog...well, james had a terrible motorcycle wreck followed by a nervous breakdown, which led to us returning to kc. that is nice. i was reminded that, unfortunately, even 'family' is easy come, easy go. which i am no longer upset about, because i have my own damn family. um...we bought a house. it is not even close to what i had always dreamed of, but it has a roof and plumbing, so, you know, it works. it has all of the things on our 'list' minus the fireplace, and big grand sippin' iced tea porch. but i can do that from the stoop and call myself urban. and the ventless fireplaces aren't that bad.

i have this amazing job where i make a meager wage for doing NOTHING, so i can't really complain about the paychecks.

now, it is time to begin the home decorating process...so, that will be *fun*. i will upload some pics soon. i have tons of ideas but no pocketbook for any of them.

i have to keep repeating the one thing at a time mantra. rome wasn't built in a day and all that. sheesh. i should pretend to do some actual work now.

june-the murderer...

june killed the fish. not only did she kill the fish, but she sorta ripped him apart. reese is upset. he got it for her for her birthday. i am at the moment-speechless.

'i didn't like it.'

so, she killed it.

god help us.

i am in a good mood today. despite the fact that i desperately need to get my butt in gear on the whole 'spring cleaning'. AND despite the fact that my weight loss has stalled. but i will continue to eat well and hope that it will get going again.

today we went to the YMCA and i spent too much money rejoining. but i think it will be worth it. the kids were wicked excited to be back there and they have a zumba class that i am pretending that i will sign up for.

swimming was the awesomest. even though june seemed mortified at first. i guess she forgot that she was getting to be a quite fantastic swimmer last year at lisa's. or maybe it was the gigantic children freakin' out all around her. either way, she found her comfort zone fairly quickly and all in all i would say it was a success.

post pseudo workout we headed to, ahem, pizza hut and the kids enjoyed some cheese pizza and soda-except for Reese Oliver, who opted for water. i love him. i learned that he is relentlessly teased at school by a pack of overfed girls. (is that mean to say?) anyways-apparently they have been chanting, 'reeses pieces buttercup don't mess with me or i'll beat your butt.' he doesn't seem to upset, but i don't know. we joked about how they must not be very bright, because their 'battle cry doesn't even rhyme'. i explained that it was relatively likely that these girls like him. which i can see as he is sorta just naturally cool...

as we were leaving the madness that was pizza hut the woman behind me was kind enough to take the time to tell me that i had the most wonderful children. which, i didn't know what to say...i usually make a joke or say something silly-compliments of any sort sorta make me squirmy, but as i looked at my children who were stacking plates, helping june with her coat and then looked around the room at the other children, one of which was standing on his chair and who's cohort across the room was trying to dislodge his pizza slice from under some elderly womans chair-the screaming the crying the running-it all hit me. my kids are awesome. a touch goofy ONCE in a while, but i was stoked to load them into the van-not the other crazed and probably medicated kids that were by the looks of things in the beginning stages of mutiny. i am one lucky lady...i need to remember that when the little things go wrong. anyways, for once, i just sorta smiled and made a general sweep of the room with my eyes and said thank you, to which she nodded knowingly.

i am off to dry our suits so we can swim again tomorrow!

Spring cleaning will begin...

as soon as i find my trash bags. we have become a family of accumulate-rs. gross. and not at all earth friendly. we must do better.

i have officially considered homeschooling and will be ordering a variety of books on the subject this friday. how terribly nervewracking.

i think it would be the best option for us for the next few years...we shall see. i need to do more research before i make a real commitment to it. i daydream of my children traveling the country with me and quoting thoreau and whitman as the thought strikes. i am such a silly woman. but, i mean, if other people can do it, why can't i?

it seems to me that the boys are in favor of it. izzy is, of course, gung ho-but he is sick of getting in trouble at school all day. we'll just have to wait and see where the books and links and im's lead me.

off to start purging (belongings, that is!)

i can't wait for summer!

where did my motivation go?

i got up today hell bent on figuring out where those dreaded fruit fly/tiny flying bugs were coming from, doing all 15 loads of laundry that are currently protecting my floors from dirt, cleaning and bleaching the kitchen, reorganizing the pantry (which by the way has mysteriously turned into an empty bag/box collection unit) bagging all things useless and donating/trashing them, sorting out all of our closets, throwing away ALL of the useless nonsense we have been collecting on the main floor of the house, replacing like 12 lightbulbs (my house is dim to say the least) helping the boys organize their toys so we can start to get rid of the tiny mystery toy pieces that are without purpose, steam cleaning the carpet, going to the street fair that is on my front steps, making an appointment to get my hair cut, disposing of the beer bottles and rotten baby bird corpse on my front steps, investigate getting a kitten for june, buying fabric paint for the couch, paint said couch, making a REAL grocery list, going to the dreaded grocery store with three miserable children who loathe shopping, making a wholesome dinner, renting a movie (pending late fees and the reality that there is probably nothing worth renting), downing a bottle of wine, scouring the help wanted ads for a new job and pass out feeling like i accomplished something.

so far i have
-remained in the clothes that i wore yesterday/slept in
-drank a pot of coffee
-scoured the new domino
-been online entirely too long
-developed a weird gut-rumbling (thanks to the boat load of coffee and sugar i am sure)
OKAY FOR REAL...I AM GOING TO BE PRODUCTIVE NOW!

IS THERE A PILL FOR PROCRASTINATORS? If so could someone order it for me? I probably won't get around to it.

i find it silly that dying is spelt wrong. all that work...what a waste.
